Barbara Joan (Herron) Jordan

Barbara Joan Jordan, age 65, of Marble Hill, MO, went home to be with the lord on March 5, 2023, at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born February 4, 1958 in Lutesville, MO. She was the daughter of the late Jimmie and Lela Louise Stratton Herron. Barbara married the Rev. Phillip Jordan on May 5, 1979 at the New Salem Baptist Church. He survives.

Barb worked at the hat factory in Marble Hill until its closing. She then retired to be a homemaker and take care of her grandchildren. She was a member of the Mt. Zion General Baptist Church in Scopus, but as a pastor’s wife, she attended services wherever her husband pastored. Barb was an avid gardener and enjoyed tending to her vegetables and rose bushes. She was a wonderful hostess, always known for having the cleanest house and offering everyone something to eat when you entered her home.

Survivors include: her husband: Rev. Phillip Jordan of Marble Hill, MO; children: Elizabeth (Rev. Ray) Greenlee of Advance, MO, James (Regina) Jordan of Marble Hill, MO, Rev. Joshua (Tora) Jordan of Patton, MO; her grandchildren: Courtney Haines, Alisa (Joey) Radford, Logan (Katie) Jordan, Hailey (David) Hess, Whitney (Jared Landawee) Jordan, Brandon, Mary, Breanna, Megan Greenlee; a nephew she always considered a grandson: David Michael Jordan; great grandchildren: James, Daniel, Jeremiah, Elliot, and Amelia; her siblings: Janet Herron, Sue Herron, Jeannie (Rev. David) Jordan, John Herron; her aunts: Mary Fowler, Agnes Atchison, and Gail Garner; her uncles: James Stratton and Lynn (Ann) Stratton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two siblings: James “Dub” and Joyce Herron.

Pallbearers will be: Logan Jordan, Brandon Greenlee, David Michael Jordan, David Hess, Joey Radford and Jared Landewee.

Visitation will be held on March 7, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel. Visitation will begin again at 10:00 AM until the funeral service at 11:00 AM on March 8, 2023, at Locust Grove Church in Marble Hill, MO. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Joe Allen, Rev. Steven Sander and Rev. Larry Underwood, officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery near Scopus, MO.
