Berdine (Cureton) Wilkerson

Berdine Wilkerson, age 85, of Blodgett, MO, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, at Saint Francis Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born on October 11, 1940, in Bessville, MO, to the late Charley and Iona (Skaggs) Cureton.

Berdine married the love of her life, Bobby “Bob” Wilkerson, on August 30, 1958, and together they shared 59 wonderful years before his passing on January 26, 2018. She was his faithful partner in life and business, helping run the well drilling company, Wilkerson Well Drilling, for many years before their son, Timmy, took over. Berdine and Bob both gave their lives to God and faithfully attended services at Church on the Rock in Morehouse, MO. Their strong faith guided their lives and was evident in the love, kindness, and generosity they shared with others.

Berdine had a heart of gold and a kitchen that never closed. She loved to cook and would feed anyone who walked through her front door. She was a natural caregiver, not only to her own family but to anyone in need. She enjoyed deer hunting, spending time with her family, working in her garden, and “piddling” around in her flower beds. She was also a proud and loving bonus mom to Angie and Terry. Her door was always open, and she welcomed everyone with open arms, love, and a warm meal.

Berdine is survived by her son, Tim Wilkerson; daughter, Debbie (Richard) Nelson; brothers, Milford “Mip” Cureton, Winford “Buck” Cureton, and Curtis (Shirley) Cureton; grandchildren, Darren (Kristina) Brown, Kalab (Nyssa) Brown, Crystal Morgan, and Travis Nelson; great-grandchildren, Ciara, Jayden, Kandin, Eli, Mackenzie, Chase, Mayce, Trent, Taylor, Jordyn, and Kylie; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby “Bob” Wilkerson; parents, Charley and Iona Cureton; daughters, Sharon Brown and Mary Wilkerson (daughter-in-law); brother, Earnest “Doc” Cureton, Melvin Cureton, Junior Cureton, and Wilford “Bill” Cureton; sisters, Paulette Bell and Kathryn Hamilton; and grandsons, Bobby Wilkerson and Jason Wilkerson.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00am to 1:00pm with Funeral Service starting at 1:00pm on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bell City, MO.
