Charles Raymond Rhodes Sr., of Marble Hill passed away at the age of 92, on August 14, 2024, at the Stonebridge Senior Living Facility in Marble Hill. He was born on March 21, 1932, to P.F. and Della (Robins) Rhodes in Bessville, Missouri.
He proudly served his country in the Korean War Army Engineers, where he received the Korean Service Medal with 4 bronze stars. He retired from General Motors after 30 years and spent the remainder of his life farming. He and his beloved wife were one of the first in the area to establish a rotational grazing cattle operation. He loved John Deeres, Chevrolets and Cardinals baseball, (though he hadn’t been please with their performance this year).
He is survived by his wife: Leora of 69 years; son: Charles Rhodes Jr.; daughter: Katie (Kevin) Godsey; brother: Winferd Rhodes; grandpup: Taz and special kitty, Tommy. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers and three sisters.
Services will be held at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, on Monday, August 19, 2024, following a visitation from 10:00 am. Randy Poole will officiate the services and burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery, with military honors.
