Cletus Neal Winchester, 79, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on March 26, 2025.
Born on May 19, 1945, in Cape Girardeau, MO, to Ethel and Curtis Winchester, Cletus spent his career as a mechanic before retiring. In retirement, he found joy in restoring old cars, a passion that brought him great fulfillment. He was known for his funny, witty nature, always bringing laughter to those around him.
Later in life, Cletus found a deep and abiding faith in Jesus, which became his source of strength, hope, and joy. His faith shaped the way he loved, served, and encouraged those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte, and his children: Cheryl Alberternst (Gary), David Stoops (Paula), Michael Winchester (Polly), Kristina Caldwell (Tim), Gregory Winchester, and Susan Long (Matthew). He is also survived by his stepchildren: Archie Beasley (Kerensa), Michelle Butler (Tommy), Matthew Beasley, Daniel Beasley, and Andrew Beasley. Cletus was blessed with 31 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Curtis Winchester; his daughter, Lori Meyer; and 11 siblings.
The family will arrange a celebration of life at a later date to honor his memory.
Cletus will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill is assisting the family with arrangements.
