Clifford Carl Ebert, Sr., 77, of Grassy, Mo., died on January 24, 2022, at West Tennessee Health Care in Dyersburg, Tennessee. Born on May 8, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Lawrence William and Lucille Alida Mielke Ebert.
A graduate of Fennville, Michigan High School, he trained as a tool and die maker and worked in Holland, Michigan, for United Tech, an automotive parts company. When his father died he took over the family apple orchard business, Ebert and Son. In 1992 he retired from Michigan work and moved to Missouri with his family. He tended a large apple orchard and raised cows and pigs.
He is survived by eight children: Kimberly (Dallas) Brown, Michelle (Ken) Porterfield, Lucinda (Gary) Young, Rebecca (Todd) Scott, Clifford Jr (Tasha) Ebert, Laura Ebert, Loreale (Torey) England, and Enneth Ebert; 35 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers: Lawrence and Kenneth Ebert; one grandson, Drake Brown; and one great-granddaughter, Akasha Gladney.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 30, 2022, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Funeral services will be at Little Valley Church (south of Marble Hill) at noon on Monday, January 31, 2022. Burial will follow in the Ebert Family Cemetery.
