Dana Lynn Douglas, 50, of Burfordville, passed away on July 4, 2024, in Cape Girardeau, at Mercy Southeast Hospital. Dana was born on February 24, 1974, to David and Sheryl (Gray) Welker, in Germany. She was a graduate of Jackson Senior High School and worked as an orthodontist assistant in Cape Girardeau for several years.
Mrs. Douglas had several hobbies to keep her busy from fishing to gardening, canning to raising goats, all the way to making t shirts and crafts. She was known to make the best pickles, and no matter how bad she might have felt at the time, she was always in the garden. Although these hobbies kept her busy, Dana’s main focus was her family. She loved spending time with her children, her husband, and her grandbabies. Being “Nana” was where she found her happiness.
Dana and Chris Douglas were united in marriage on February 15, 2020, at Harmony Church. This couple enjoyed living life to the fullest and was always caught in the evenings watching the game show network on tv. They enjoyed their time with each other and always kept each other smiling.
She is survived by her parents: David and Sheryl Welker; husband: Chris Douglas; sons: Christopher, Dalton (Kya) and DJ Douglas; daughters: Taylor and Kaitlyn Lukefahr, Rana (Brian) Hall; brother: David Welker; grandchildren: Elsie, Mary, Aidan, Lena, Hazel, Thomas, Daniel D., James, Piper and Daniel L.
Services will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, at Harmony Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 6:00 pm, with Bro.’s Greg Burns, Kevin Stroup and Stevie Jordan officiating.
