David Walter Copsy

David Walter Copsy, passed away on April 14, 2024, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. He was born in Milwaukee, WI, on April 19, 1945, to the late Ralph and Redelton (Fordman) Copsy.

David and Connie Nelson, were united in marriage on November 24, 1968. After 52 years of marriage, she preceded David in death on December 9, 2021.

David had a degree in art and worked as an art teacher for a number of years. He loved all kinds of art. He liked to draw and paint. He like fantasy movies and books. David also loved music. He spent many nights going to concerts with his son Jason.

Although David had a love for many things, being grandpa to his grandson Maxwell, was his number one priority. Max was the center of David’s world, and grandpa was his favorite roll in life.

He is survived by his number one grandson: Maxwell Copsy; one brother: Craig (Diane) Copsy; and in laws: Mike (Christie) Middleton, Kim (David) Crouch; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son Jason, who preceded him on March 27, 2024.

The Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in assisting the family during this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
