David Lynn Massa

David Lynn Massa, 67, of Marble Hill, passed away on April 2nd, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at his home. He was born on December 16, 1956, to the late Clinton and Marie (Estes) Massa, in East St. Louis.

David was very well liked by everyone he met. He was devoted to his working career as a salesman for Richardson Tire, and previously as a dispatcher for DGI. He never missed a day of work, and was always reliable. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed running around looking at cars, and shopping for his next new car.

On December 17, 1981, in Bonne Terre, David and Terry Helm were united in marriage. The love of this couple would bring them three children: Shawn, David and Bobbie Jo. He and Terry attended Cowboy Church at Crump and McGee Chapel. David was a family man and loved spending time with his wife and children. He was Terry’s biggest fan, and biggest critic when she was barrel racing. He lived for watching his wife ride horses, and later his grandkids sports events. From ball games, to watching karate, he was always there to support his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Terry Massa of the home; two sons: Shawn (Jamie) Massa, David (Kelsey) Massa; two daughters: Bobbie Jo Massa, Melissa Marie Cate; three brothers: Clinton (Debbie) Massa, Kenneth (Angela) Massa, Edward (Teresa) Massa; one sister: Millie (Bob) Koepel; fifteen grandchildren: Brenden, Breane, Tyler, Jathon, Riley, Kayla, Kyra, Jase, Daylynn, Addyson, Ayden, Carsen, Gage, Charley, Andi; two great grandchildren: Sage and Ben.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be held at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 5, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 11:00 am, with his brother Kenny Massa officiating. Burial will follow at McGee Chapel Cemetery.
