David Edward McElvain, 63, of Marble Hill, passed away on November 26, 2024, at Mercy Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born on November 12, 1961, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Marvin and Peggy (Green) McElvain. He was a 1981 graduate of Woodland High School.
After high school, David went to work at the shoe factory in Jackson, until their closing in 1987. He went on to work at Rubbermaid until 2008. He liked to ride four-wheelers, drive his truck, and helping around the farm. He loved spending time with his family, fishing with his parents and he had a soft spot for his cats.
David is survived by his brother: Kevin (Betty) McElvain. He was preceded in death by his parents; two nieces: Christy Hughes and Terri Ann Gramlisch.
Services will be held at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 1, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 am, Monday, December 2, 2024. Burial will follow next to his parents at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sedgewickville.
