Dearlean Fay Reed, age 75, of Zalma, Missouri, passed away on August 20, 2025. She was born December 16, 1949, to the late Cleston and Thelma (Rector) Cowin.
On July 28, 1967, in Van Buren, Missouri, Dearlean was united in marriage to Daniel Reed, and together they shared 34 years of marriage until his passing on November 5, 2001.
Dearlean lived a full and hardworking life. She earned both a bachelor’s degree and a welding degree and worked as a hairdresser and farmer. She loved the simple joys of life like gardening, fishing, deer hunting, canning, and reading her Bible. Her greatest happiness, however, was found in her family. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment she could spend with them. To those who knew her best, she was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her children, Yancy (Bashie) Reed and Danette (Stacy) Eaker; brothers, Dennis Cowin and Dwayne Cowin; and grandchildren, Jake, Lane, Katie, Reed, and Caleb.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel Reed; her parents, Cleston and Thelma Cowin; brothers, Pete, Donald, and Randy Cowin; and her identical twin sister, Earlean Moore.
Services are being handled by Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO.
