Diana Kay Hutchings Buffington Young, 69, of Farmington, Mo., died Dec. 30, 2020, at Parkland Health Center in Farmington. Born on July 6, 1951, in Ironton, Mo., she was the daughter of Leon Joseph “Pete” and Jewell Womack Sutton Hutchings.
Diana was the proud mother of two sons: Jesse (Carlyn) Buffington of DeSoto, Mo., and Bryan Buffington of Arnold, Mo. She was a retired bookkeeper, having worked for Ouliette Machines and Lutheran Hour Ministries.
She was a weekly visitor at garage sales and enjoyed renting a display booth at the local antique mall. At home she tended her chickens and coddled her cats.
Besides her sons, she is survived by four brothers: John (Linda) Hutchings of Florida, Michael (Cynthia) Hutchings of Texas, Wayne (Debbie) Hutchings of Farmington, and Charles Sutton of Farmington; two step-grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Leon J. Hutchings Jr., and two sisters: Rosemary Womack and Judy Hill.
A private memorial service will be held at a future date. Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Mo., is assisting the family.
