Donald Lee Hanebrink

Donald Lee Hanebrink, 67, of Jackson, MO, passed away at his home, on December 29, 2023, with his family surrounding him. Donald was born on July 27, 1956, in Cape Girardeau, MO, at the Southeast Hospital, to the late Donald and Betty Lou (Schweppe) Hanebrink.

Donald worked at the Salvation Army for the last 17 years of his life, prior to his retirement. He was a volunteer and soldier in the Salvation Army. He helped deliver food, assisted in the coat drives, worked as a janitor, helped in the outreach groups and drove a delivery truck. He assisted in many ways as a volunteer, and his passion for helping those in need, shined very bright.

Although he would help anyone in need, Donald enjoyed his quiet time to himself. He would listen to records, and watch movies. He had a collection of VHS tapes that reached over 2,400 tapes. He was a simple man, but he was goofball.

On November 8, 1979, Donald and Tina London were united in marriage. This couple raised their children together and was very much a “pair”, until Tina passed away in December of 2022.

He is survived by one son: Donald (Shanda) Hanebrink Jr. of Jackson; three daughters: Sarah Hanebrink, Mandy (AJ) Wilkerson, Brianna (Brittany) Merritt all of Jackson; one brother: Michael Hanebrink of Cape Girardeau; two sisters: Peggy (Roy) Kennedy of Randalls, MO, Lora Hanebrink of Bruno, MO; 10 grandchildren: Hailey, Cord, Jade, Donnie III, Cheyanna, Aurora, Titus, Zach, Israel, and Amariah.

The Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri is assisting the family during this time. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
