Dorothy Mae (Hammock) Blevins, 93, of Marble Hill, passed away on March 26, 2026, at the Stonebridge Senior Living Facility. She was born on February 14, 1933, to the late Guy Martin and Berdie Mae (Henderson) Martin, in Delassus, Missouri. Dorothy achieved her degree as a CNA and worked for several years taking care of others. Her “gift of gab” and her big heart made her a great caretaker.
Dorothy had a great love for flowers and gardening, and she loved to admire the beauty in flowers. She liked to spend time outdoors gardening, fishing and sitting on the front porch talking to her friends and neighbors. A cup of coffee, cat head biscuits, yeast rolls and friendly conversation was always available at Dorothy’s house, and always cherished. She was a talented seamstress who crafted quilts and even made the wedding gown for one of her daughters. She loved to sing and had a beautiful singing voice.
A lot can be said about someone’s love and devotion to their family, and this would be very much true with Dorothy. She is a Five Generations grandmother who was devoted to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She loved and adored her family. She is survived by her children: Paul (Dolores) Hammock, Roy Hammock, Patricia (Doug) Stephens, Theresa Lewis; brother: Melvin Martin; grandchildren: Jeanne, Jennifer, Alicia, Justin, Tiffany, Katelyn, Roseanna, Daniel and Valerie; great grandchildren: Emily, Zach, Natalie, Abigail, Allison, Justus, Tyler, Bailey, Anne, Leeanna, Christian,Kolton, Kaleb, Kendall, Davyn, Dominic, Jaiden and Damien; great-great grandchildren: Cannon, Ryker, Peyton, Thomas and Abel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons: Robert (Bob) Swan, Baby Hammock; son-in-law: Dan Lewis; siblings: James Martin, Glenda Spradling, Pearl Foree, Gladys Young, Robert Martin, William Martin, Arthur Martin, Carl Martin and Cora Zimmerman.
Graveside Services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, at Baker Cemetery. Visitation from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm, with Kathy Medlin officiating.
