Dorothy Laverne Northern, Age: 78, of St Louis, MO died on Friday, January 27, 2023 at home, after a lengthy illness, surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 26, 1944 in Charleston, MO to Chester V and Dorothy M (Baker) Weakley.
In 1959 she married Charles Northern from Sikeston, MO and he survives.
Dorothy and Charles worked for a vending company several years until they bought the company and started their family-owned business, Northern Vending. She was co-owner and the Office Manager of the business working along side of her husband and children which they operated until their retirement.
Besides her husband of 63 years, survivors include daughters: Sheila & Lynda Northern, St Louis, & Marsha (Gary) Duncan of Collinsville, IL. Brothers: Glenn Weakley of Marble Hill, Gordon & Tom Weakley of Jackson, Sisters: Mary Pauline Rhodes of FL, Wanda Duncan of Jackson , & Theresa Burnham of IN.
Grandchildern: Matthew Gore, Charles (Amber) Duncan, James Gore, Krystal (James) Duncan-O’Harrow, Pauline (Matt) Eschbacher, Kristene (Brad) Holmes,
Great Grandchildren: Gabriel & Riley Kay Duncan, Karlie & Aiden Eschbacher, Great Grandchildren:, Allilonna Shodes, Annie (Dalton) Fox, Kaliyah (Austin) Icke, Trinity Shrodes-Durbin (Shane), Great-Great Granddaughter: Jaylynn Icke, and Great-Great Grandson Braxton Durbin.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Chester & Dorothy Weakley, Daughter: Pamela Dunsworth, Grandsons: Christropher Gore & Joseph Stamminger, Great Granddaughter: Faith Durbin, Brothers: Stephen & Michael Weakley, Brother-In-Laws: Stanley Duncan & Bill Rhodes, Sister-In-Laws: Joy Weakley & Joyce Weakley.
Services will be held on February 1, 2023 at Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Viewing will start at 11:00 AM followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM in the Chapel. The Rev. Bill McCormick will officiate. Burial will be at McGee Cemetery off State Hwy DD in Glenallen.
