Edna Viola Irvin, 86, of Marble Hill, Mo., died at her daughter’s home in Farmington, Mo., on October 14, 2021. Born in Bessville, Mo., on May 3, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Luke and Beulah Butler Sitze. On November 15, 1958, she and Otho S. Irvin were married. For the early years of their marriage they lived in the St. Louis, Mo., area. In 1972 they returned to Bollinger County rural life.
Edna worked at Paramount Hat Company in Marble Hill. She attended New Bethel Congregational Methodist Church.
She is survived by four children: Jeffery (Kathy) Irvin of Leopold, Mo., Keith (Crystal) Irvin of Clinton, Utah, Connie James of Farmington, and Cheryl Irvin of Marble Hill; by three sisters: Linda Long, Lola Henson, and Evelyn Robins, all of Marble Hill; by eight grandchildren: Corran (Carl) Stockstill, Ricky (Jenny) Irvin, Kelly (Jason) Westbrook, Jill (Jack) Wedemeier, Samantha James, Alexis (Ariel) Stavri, Kelcy Sayler, and Landry Francis; and by 13 great-grandchildren: Jade and Hassiel Utrera, Cash, Colter, and Cameron Westbrook, Tory James, Alice and Madison Stavri, Freyja Irvin, Morgan Stockstill, Brendan and Audrey Dereta, and Sunday McAlister.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband, Otho, in 2020; by two sons: Robert and Ricky Irvin; by four brothers: Oscar Rhodes, Jr., Harley Sitze, Melvin Sitze, and Clark Sitze; by a sister, Ruby Moore; and by a grandson, Cameron Irvin.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Mo. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time. Funeral services will Begin at 12:00 p.m. with Kelly Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery near Bessville, Mo.
