Etta Mae (Jordan-Hertensen) Deets

Etta Mae Jordan Hertensen Deets, 84, of Glen Allen, Mo., died at her home on November 9, 2021.

Born in Marquand, Mo., on August 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Ruby Mouser Jordan.

She and Wallace M. Deets were married on Nov. 28, 1956.  He preceded her in death in 2018.

For over 30 years they made their home in Arizona, returning to Missouri in 1989.  She was a homemaker, but expressed her creativity by teaching ceramics, being a sewing instructor for

4-H club, quilting and crocheting, and painting in oil.  She played the organ at her church and tended

Both vegetable and flower gardens.

She is survived by a son:  Robert Deets; by two daughters:  Laurie (Howard) Robison and Angela (Steve)

Haggard; by four brothers:  Clifford (Christine) Hertensen, Paul (Jean) Hertensen, Henry (Sandy) Jordan and Wendell Jordan; by six sisters:  Gene Thompson, Kathy (Homer)Jordan, Charlotte (Bill) Warner, June (Keith) Kitze, Betty Herzog and Judy Eldridge, by nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Christy Mathey, and a sister, Betty Meador.

Visitation and funeral services will be on Friday, Nov.12, 2021, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.  Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Randy Poole officiating.  Burial will follow in Grassy Friendship Cemetery near Glen Allen, Mo.
