Evelyn Susie (Sitze) Robins

Evelyn Susie Robins, 85, of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away peacefully at her home on the family farm, on Saturday, July 29, 2023. Evelyn was born on September 25, 1937, in Bessville, Missouri, to the late Luke and Beulah (Butler) Sitze.

Evelyn was raised in Bessville, MO, one of nine children. She attended grade school and graduated from Lutesville High School.

Lawrence Robins and Evelyn Sitze were united in marriage on July 15, 1955. They were married nearly 50 years and raised five wonderful children together: Mark, Vicky, Sandra, Karen and Lori. Lawrence preceded her in death on January 2, 2005.

Evelyn was an avid quilter. She sewed, pieced and embroidered everything from quilts to clothing. She hand-quilted nearly every quilt she made. Evelyn even sewed formal gowns, and dresses for her daughters to wear to proms, and other engagements. Aside from her quilting, Evelyn loved the outdoors. She grew a garden, raked and mowed hay on the farm, and loved to fish. She spent a countless number of hours fishing with her family. Bass fishing was her favorite and always brought a smile to her face.

She attended Old Union Church in Bessville in her younger years with her siblings, and New Salem Baptist Church in Marble Hill in her later years. Evelyn loved to spend time with her family. Her siblings, nieces and her nephews meant a great deal to Evelyn. She was very active with her church families, attending in any function she could to help out. She and her church friends had a quilting guild that met together.

Mrs. Robins is survived and will be truly missed by: one son: Mark Robins of Fredericktown; four daughters: Vicky (John) Rambo-Wohaska of Cape Girardeau, Sandra (Jon Hopkins) Robins of Vernal, Utah, Karen (Floyd) Wright of Marble Hill, Lori (Ken) Jones of Jackson; one sister: Lola Henson of Bessville; nine grandchildren: Scott Robins, Angie Naeter, Sarah Rambo, David Wright, Rachael McCoy, Mackenzie Drury, Brett Jones, Trent Jones, Leah Lasc; seventeen great grandchildren and two, on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; four brothers: Oscar Rhodes Jr., Harley Sitze, Melvin Sitze and Clark Sitze; three sisters: Ruby Moore Edna Irvin, Linda Long.

Pallbearers will be: Jeff Irvin, David Wright, Trent Jones, Mikal Long, John Wohaska and David Lasc.

Services will be held at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Visitation will be on Monday, August 7, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM with Bro.’s Brett Jones and Randy Poole officiating.  Burial will follow at the Glen Allen Cemetery in Glen Allen, MO.
