Everett Marion Masters, 96, of Marble Hill, passed away on January 19, 2025, at the Stonebridge Senior Living Facility. He was born in Scott County, Missouri, on May 15, 1928, to the late John Everett and Cora Bell (Harbison) Masters.
He enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1945, at the age of 17, and served in the Pacific, he received his honorable discharge in 1949. Everett worked as a supervisor at Potlatch now TetraPak in Sikeston for over 30 years. He loved to sing gospel music throughout his lifetime and recorded several albums.
Everett and Loretta Porter were united in marriage on June 15, 1974, in Sikeston, Missouri.
In 1979 they purchased a cattle farm in Bollinger County.
After retiring from their jobs in Sikeston in 1985 along with the cows they ran the “Breezy M Tot Farm”, they babysat many children for families in the local community for the next 30 years.
Everett loved to help Loretta with the children and was in his best element babysitting and is known as "Papa" by over 50 young adults many in their 20's, 30's, & 40's now.
They celebrated 50 years of marriage together in 2024.
Survivors include his wife: Loretta Masters; sons: Bob(Sheila) Porter; Mike (Debi) Porter; grandchildren: Sarah Porter, Michael (Amanda) Porter, Elizabeth (Matt) Medrano; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Audrey, Betty June, Everett, Lakota and Eiza.
Services will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Bro. Fred Ritter officiating. Burial will follow at Hurricane Fork Cemetery with full military rights.
