Harlin Leroy Griffith, 77, of Cape Girardeau, passed away at his home on March 10, 2026. He was born on September 29, 1948, to the late Kennith Griffith and Wanda Becket in Cape Girardeau.
Harlin dedicated 30 years of service to the City of Cape Girardeau as a lead worker, before retiring. He had a great passion for racoon hunting and kept some of the best coon dogs around. He liked to go fishing and to golf.
Mr. Griffith and Monica Bittle were united in marriage on June 2, 2001. They celebrated nearly 25 years of marriage together and attend Mount Auburn Christian Church in Cape Girardeau. Harlin was very proud and very protective of his family. He cherished the times he spent with his wife, his children, grandchildren and his beloved coon dogs.
Survivors include his wife: Monica Griffith; children: Scott (Sahsahna) Griffith, Lance (Cecelia) Harris, Pamela (Darin) Campbell, Lydia Webster; siblings: Anna Sparks, Theresa Hettenhouser, Lisa Bierschwal; grandchildren: Scotty Jr., Brook, Austin, Samantha, Darin Jr., Theophilus, Ezreal, Sullivan, Ebenezer, Adaline, Leviticus, Cecelia K.; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Bobby Griffith and his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at Mount Auburn Christian Church in Cape Girardeau. Service will begin at 1:30 pm. The Pendergrass Funeral Home in Marble Hill is assisting the family with Harlin’s final wishes.
