Harold Bernard Beussink, 85, of Leopold, Missouri, passed away September 27, 2022 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the Auburn Creek Senior Living Center surrounded by his loving family. Harold was born August 13, 1937 in Leopold, Missouri to the late Anthony and Mary (Arnzen) Beussink.
On May 17, 1958, Harold was united in marriage to Helen E. Thiele at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold, MO. Of this marriage they had five children: Elaine, Pam, Peggy, Sarah and Stuart. He worked as a carpenter for over 40 years for Kenny Seabaugh Construction before his retirement. Harold was also a member of St. John Catholic Church in Leopold, MO.
Harold was an avid outdoorsman. To say he loved nature, would be an understatement. Harold loved to fish and hunting anything he could. Everyone would say, “he wore the bass out at Duck Creek.” Harold was a perfectionist when it came to working. From painting, to trim work, or building houses, it was going to be built correctly. Harold was also known to overthrow home plate from centerfield in his younger days.
Survivors include: four daughters: Elaine (DeWayne) Stroder of Leopold, MO, Pam (Stan) Woodfin, Peggy (Francis) Nenninger, Sarah (David) Johnson all of Marble Hill, MO; one son: Stuart (Julie) Beussink of Marble Hill, MO; one brother: David (Judy) Beussink of Jackson, MO; two sisters: Pat Bollinger of Marble Hill, MO, Linda Brown of Jackson, MO, eleven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; by his loving wife of 61 years: Helen; five brothers: Fred, Bill, Philip, Charles, Franklin Beussink; two sisters: Adele Brands, Catherine Brands.
Pallbearers will be: Matt Woodfin, Noland Beussink, Michael Massa, Randy Conn, Nathan Stroder, Alex Crowe, Rick Thiele and Nick Thiele.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold, MO. Parish prayers will be at 7:30 PM. Funeral Mass will be Friday, September 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold, MO.
Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery in Leopold, MO.
