Patton, Missouri, with immediate family only.
Harold is survived by his wife, LaDonna Mills; his two sons, Harold Ray Mills and Jerry
Lynn Mills; his twin brother, Darold Mills, his sister-in-law Lee Ann Mills, his younger
brother Bill, and his sisters Marsha, Sandy, and Mary Lou. He is preceded in death by
his sister, Margaret. Harold is further survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren,
and great grandchildren who loved him dearly.
Harold was born on April 14, 1945. He was raised in Patton, Missouri, by his mother,
grandparents, and aunts. Harold proudly served in the United States Army, where he
served for two years in Italy. On February 6,1960, Harold married the love of his life,
LaDonna Mills.
Harold loved music and ministry. He sang alongside his wife, LaDonna, his brother
Darold, his sister-in-law Lee Ann, and many others, sharing gospel music with those
around them. Harold and LaDonna also traveled with Lisa Hufford for many years. He
loved supporting his nephews, Scott, Tim, and Todd, “The Southern Brothers,” and
helped book many events for them to perform at. Singing was one of Harold’s
ministries, and in his early years he also preached revivals. Harold and LaDonna were
charter members of Calvary Temple in Fredericktown, MO. Later they became members
of Cape County Cowboy Church and ministered there. Harold had a strong faith and
loved the Lord and his church, which were very important parts of his life.
Harold had a deep love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. For
many years he trained squirrel dogs using a four-wheeler, enjoyed fox hunting, and
loved going coyote hunting with his brother, Darold. Harold also enjoyed fishing with his
many friends and often participated in fishing competitions, where he even won bass
boats. Camping with family and friends was another pastime he treasured.
While LaDonna was teaching, Harold started the Meadow Heights Elementary
basketball program. He enjoyed coaching basketball and cheering on his family and
friends while watching them play. Harold also loved the cowboy lifestyle. For 30 years,
Harold and LaDonna traveled to Cheyenne Frontier Days. He especially enjoyed
supporting his nephews and friends as they roped and competed in rodeos. Harold andLaDonna also had two walking horses that were very special to them, and LaDonna
especially loved trail riding with them.
Harold will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of faith, music,
family, and the cowboy way of life will live on in the hearts of those he touched. He will
forever be remembered and deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were
blessed to know him.
