Harold Ray Patterson, age 68, of Swinton, Missouri, passed away peacefully at his home on November 1, 2025, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on February 7, 1957, in Advance, Missouri, Harold graduated from Bell City High School and went on to have a long and dedicated career in over-the-road trucking, construction, and excavation.
He married the love of his life, Cynthia Jane Griffin, on October 19, 1991, in Swinton, Missouri. She survives in the home.
Harold will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, and his deep love for watching his children and grandchildren excel in rodeo and all sports. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his loyal dog, Moe.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his children, Niki (Steven) Cummins, Stephani (Chad) Shoaf, Justen (Kari) Patterson, Katie (Jimmy) Skaggs, and Kelsy Patterson; and his grandchildren, Allie (Hunter) Eftink, Layne Michael (Kaylee) and Ty Nicholas Johnson, Spencer Cole, Caroline, and Will Patrick Shoaf, Cooper, Eli, and Hatley Kate Patterson, and Jane Ann and Lily Grace Skaggs.
He is also survived by one sister, Theresa Rhodes; one brother, David (Robin) Patterson; brothers- and sisters-in-law Carl Hefner, Connie Pittman, Eric (Lisa) Griffin, Terry (Laura) Griffin, and Saundra Newell; one aunt, Linda Gaither; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Deborah Hefner; brothers-in-law Garry Rhodes, Norman Newell,and Jack Newell; his granddaughter, Lexi Cummins; and his parents-in-law, Deloris and Bill Griffin.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Harold’s life from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a short service following.
Though he is gone, his light will continue to shine through all who knew and loved him.
