Jack Lee Padgett, 87, of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away at Life Care Center of Cape Girardeau. Born in Doans, Indiana, on June 19, 1934, he was the son of Jesse B. and Emma Jane Hamilton Padgett.
Jack worked as a funeral director at Baker Funeral Home and at Lutesville Pallet as a machine operator.
He also worked as a heavy equipment operator in highway construction and repair. He attended the Marble Hill Bible Chapel.
On August 8, 2003, he and Kathleen Wells were married. She survives. Other survivors include two sons: Jack W (Karen) Padgett of Colorado and Jesse (Kim) Padgett of British Columbia; a daughter, Karen (Roger) Call of Michigan; a step-son, Thomas (Renee) Angel and a step-daughter, Lisa (Buck) Lincoln, both of Missouri; seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and one step-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Vincent Padgett; and five sisters: Oneita Parkinson, Verneice Summerville, Kathleen King, Madge Haywood, and Floella Walters.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Mo. Visitation will start at 11:00 a.m. and continue to service time. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Stan Hargis officiating. Burial will follow in Baker Cemetery near Marble Hill.
