James Roscoe Cooper Jr., 76, of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away on May 9th, 2025, at St. Louis University Hospital. He was born on August 21, 1948, in Jasper, Florida, to the late James R. Cooper Sr. and Lottie Zipperer. On November 24, 1979, Jim and Debbie Bollinger Page were united in marriage in St. Louis, Missouri. Jim was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Advance, Missouri.
James served his country in the United States Marine Corps, with two tours in Vietnam. He was in the 11th Marine 1st Marine Division. Jim worked as an agriculture/aerial applicator pilot for several years in Mississippi and Texas. Jim later took a job with the BNSF Railway, where he retired.
His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of his life. He loved his time spent with family. Jim always loved to attend the family sporting events, riding his Harley, amateur radio and “researching” topics that peaked his interest.
He is survived by his wife: Debbie Cooper; children: Amber (Stan) Beel, Tracy (Rob) Morehead, Jason (Andrea) Cooper; grandchildren: Danielle (Ronnie) Woodfin, Mackenzie (Ryan) Sprandel, Zach (Chelsea) Beel, Trevor (Audrey) Morehead, Macy Morehead, Tanner Morehead, Bailey Cooper, Grace Cooper, Max Cooper, Lillian Cooper; great grandchildren: Hazel and Brody Woodfin, Sophie and Harper Sprandel, Brooklyn Beel; siblings: Betty Prine, Janice Capps, Shirley Luallen, Sadie Bembry, Wanda Butler, Debbie Pittman.
He was preceded by his parents; and two brothers: Stephen and John Cooper.
Services will be held on Monday, May 19th, 2025, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am, with military honors.
