James Robert Lincoln

James Robert Lincoln, 77, of Scopus, MO, passed away November 2, 2022 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO, surrounded by his loving family. James was born August 25, 1945 to the late Columbus and Bertie (Filer) Lincoln in Marble Hill, MO.

On March 8, 1969, James and Linda Douglas were united in marriage at Scopus, MO. Of this marriage, James and Linda had three sons: Nute, Buck and Roger Lincoln. Linda preceded James in death on January 31, 2022.

James was the “community handyman” to everyone around Scopus and Marble Hill, MO. He worked on tractors, fixed cars, did construction, plumbing and anything to help out someone. James was a bus driver for Woodland and Meadow Heights School for many years. He worked for a number of pallet factories in and around Marble Hill. James was a member of Hurricane Fork Church and attended New Bethel Church near Scopus, MO. He was a past member of the Scopus Fire Dept and part of the electrical union in his younger years. James made sure everyone knew his favorite tractor was a “G” John Deere. He spent much of his time working on antique and pulling tractors. He was a member of the Bollinger County Antique Tractor Club.

James loved his family. He loved his friends and he loved his tractors.

Survivors include: three sons: Robert Edward “Nute” (Carla) Lincoln, Stasey Lynn “Buck” (Lisa) Lincoln, Roger Lincoln all of Scopus, MO; ten grandchildren: Casey (Shawne) Masters, Carrie (Johnathon) McGuire, Christie (Austin) Arnold, Brandee (Jeremy Tackett) Lincoln, Derek Lincoln, Heather (Jacob Sides) Blaire, David Schroer, DJ (Alieda) Dunn, Anthony Blaire, Anna Lincoln; seven great grandchildren: Mayah, Caden, Bridgett, Ava, Carter, Caleb, Isaac, with three more on the way; two sister in laws: Brenda Kirkpatrick, Janet (Jerry) Howell; one brother in law: Bud (Doris) Douglas.

Pallbearers will be: Doug Douglas, Tony Douglas, Rich Kirkpatrick, Jerod Howell, Kevin Rhodes and Wade Wilkinson. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Missi Rhodes, Jerry Howell, Bud Douglas, Mike Garland and Tom Eddelman.

Services will be at Hutchings Funeral Chapel, Monday, November 7, 2022. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral service will be at 1:00 PM.

Burial will follow at Hurricane Fork Cemetery, near Scopus, MO.

Bro. Kevin Stroup and Tommy Cook will officiate.
