James Benton Robins, age 78, of Patton, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2025, at Stonebridge Senior Living.
Born on March 7, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, James was the son of the late Rev. Carl Quinton Robins and Mabel (Fulton) Robins. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Q. Robins and Gerald W. Robins.
James is survived by his devoted wife, Stephanee (Higdon) Robins, married on May 11, 2007; his children, Tina, Gretchen, and Gwendolyn; step-son, Brandon, his brother, Johnnie D. (Sue) Robins ; his sister, Dianna K. Ladd; and several beloved nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
James was a man of deep faith, a true lover of God and a proud member of God’s Country Cowboy Church in Fredericktown, MO. He read his Bible nightly, and his spiritual strength was a guiding force in his life and the lives of those around him.
A skilled handyman, James had a talent and passion for working with his hands whether it was carpentry, electrical work, or plumbing. He loved animals, sharing his home with six dogs and an outdoor cat who brought him joy daily. He also enjoyed golf, card games (especially Canasta and Spades), and watching “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “Blue Bloods” with his wife—Tom Selleck being a favorite.
James had a hearty love for life’s simple pleasures: spending time with his family, savoring Mexican food, and indulging in chocolate ice cream. His warmth, humor, and devotion to his loved ones made him a deeply cherished husband, brother, and friend.
He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and hard work, one that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel.
Military Honors will be at Bloomfield Veterans Cemetery on June 27th, 2025 at 1:00 P.M.
