Janet Carol (James) Fortenberry

Janet Carol Fortenberry, 81, of Marble Hill, passed away on July 2, 2024. She was born on July 17, 1942, in St. Louis Missouri, to Clemo and Hazel (Elledge) James. Mrs. Fortenberry loved to play bingo and put her green thumb to work in the garden. Her time spent inside was doing arts and crafts, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Janet was a caregiver and foster parent to anyone who needed her throughout her life.

Survivors include her son: Kevin (Donna Chronister) Fortenberry; daughters: April Fortenberry and Angie Fortenberry; brother: John (LaDonna) James; nephews: David James, and Donnie James; grandchild: Hollie Fortenberry.

She was proceeded in death by her parents; and her great grandchildren Kyle Earley, Lily Fortenberry, and “T” Fortenberry.

Services will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow at the Point Pleasant Cemetery near Marble Hill.
