Jason Walter Copsy, 50, of Cape Girardeau, passed away on March 27, 2024. Jason was born on February 12, 1974, to David and Connie (Nelson) Copsy, in Cape Girardeau. He was a 1992 graduate of Cape Central High School. He was an avid music fan, especially rock-n-roll, and played in many local bands. He enjoyed watching wrestling and collecting sports memorabilia.
The most important thing in Jason’s life, was his son, Max. Jason often said the best part of his life was being a dad and spending time with his son was his favorite thing to do.
He is survived by his dad: David Copsy; one son: Maxwell Copsy; three aunts: Kim (David) Crouch, Christie (Mike) Middleton, Diane (Craig) Copsy; numerous cousins: Robin, Emily, Ben, Chad, Brett, Kendra, Jennifer, Jordan, Dillon and Jessica.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Connie Copsy; his maternal and paternal grandparents; one aunt: Donna Ritter; one uncle: Gerald Nelson; and a cousin: Travis.
The Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill is assisting with the arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
