Jimmie Wayne Lincoln, 78, of Scopus, Missouri, died at his home on November 30, 2021. Born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on August 14, 1943, he was the son of Dwel Wayne and Juanita Limbaugh Lincoln. He and Dorothy “Dot” Lee Welker were married on December 24, 1963. She survives.
Jimmie worked most of his life with wood. He was a self-employed sawyer and a carpenter. Drinking coffee with friends and discussing the current state of the world were favorite pass-times. His family was very important to him. He was extremely proud that two grandsons joined the military.
Survivors include Dot, his wife of 58 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Laura Lincoln of Burfordville, Mo.; two grandsons: Nathaniel Wayne Lincoln and Devin Wayne Lincoln of Burfordville; a sister, Glenda R (Buck) Hanners of Marble Hill; and many nieces and nephews and other family who cared for him. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Wendell and Garry Lincoln, and his parents.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on December 13, 2021, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow in Cook Cemetery near Scopus.
