Jo Ann Birta (Long) Griffon

Jo Ann Birta (Long) Griffon, 78, of Glen Allen, MO, passed away at her home on June 20, 2023. She was born on March 24, 1945 to the late Byron and Birta (Upchurch) Long.

Jo Ann was a graduate of Patton High School. Following high school, she went on to further her education at the William Jewell College in Liberty, MO. There, she graduated with a 3.8 GPA and earned her teaching degree. She taught at Marquand and Zalma High Schools. She was an avid reader, and very articulate.

Jo Ann and Kenny Griffon were united in marriage on August 27, 1973, in Miami, Oklahoma. Kenny passed away in December of 2019.

Jo Ann is survived by a few relatives, and her many friends she met along her journey.

Services will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Plainview Congregational Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM, with Bro. Otis Long officiating. Burial will follow in the Plainview Cemetery, where Jo Ann will be laid to rest next to her departed husband, Kenny.
