John "Doug" Douglas Pittman

John Douglas “Doug” Pittman, 79, of Grassy, MO, passed away November 26, 2022, at St Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. Doug was born May 6, 1943 to the late Leon and Emma (Jones) Pittman, in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Doug worked for 22 years in Advance, MO at the shoe factory. He loved to squirrel hunt, deer hunt, rabbit hunt and watch westerns. Gene Autry and Gunsmoke were two of his favorite shows. He attended the Church of Christ in Marble Hill, MO.

On June 26, 2006, Doug was united in marriage to Connie (Griffin) Newell at the Grassy Friendship Church in Grassy, MO.  She survives.

Survivors include: his wife: Connie; one son: Johnny Dale Pittman of Greenville, MO; one daughter: Robin Martin of Arlington, TX; two brothers: Larry Pittman of Dexter, MO, Jerry Pittman of Puxico, MO; one sister: Carolyn Moody of Zalma, MO; one granddaughter: Misty (Chris) Glenn of Arlington, TX and two great grandchildren: Chris and Xavier Glenn.

Services will be held at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM, following the visitation. Burial will follow at Grassy Friendship Cemetery near Grassy, MO.
