Johnny Doyle Howard, 71, of Patton, passed away on November 28, 2023, at his home. Johnny was born in St. Louis, MO, on September 30, 1952, to the late Joseph and Mary Lou (Martin) Howard. He was a graduate of Greenville High School in Greenville, MO.
Johnny worked for over 40 years for the Mississippi Lime Kiln, prior to retiring. During his career at the lime kiln, he worked various jobs. He began as a mechanic, then worked as a crusher, dump truck driver, explosives technician, scale operator and ended his career as a pump mechanic. His ability to engineer and design a way to fix things, carried through his working career and his home hobbies. He was a master carpenter at wood working and refinishing furniture. He would fix and build anything, that he put his mind to. Mr. Howard may have enjoyed working and building, but he also liked to go fishing. Gogol eye and bluegill was his favorite fish to catch in the creeks.
Johnny had two children, and five grandchildren, and he loved to spend time with them. He would show them how to fix things, take them fishing, and teach them his tricks of carpentry.
He is survived by one son: David Howard; one daughter: Lora (Jason) Myers of Sedgewickville, MO; one brother: Joseph Lynn Howard; three sisters: Victoria (Gary) Maine of Florida, Ginger Herrera of Colorado, Dawn (Jerry) Miller of Patton; five grandchildren: Seth Gloth, Levi Howard, John, Ivy and Elsie Myers.
Services will be held at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 30, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 10:00 am, with Bro. Jason Myers officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant Grove Cemetery near Marquand.
