Johny Wayne Long, born on November 13, 2003, passed away on January 9, 2026, at the age of 22. He spent most of his life in and out of the hospitals and always remained a very joyful young man. He enjoyed going to church, hanging out with his friends, finding the “flint” on Minecraft, going fishing with his buddy’s, hunting with his dad and he adored kids, as you would rarely find him without one by his side.
Johny graduated on March 8th, 2023, but the day that truly matter to him was the day he answered his call to preach on June 26, 2025. He preached his first message on July 30, 2025, at New Bethel. He knew he wanted to preach the rest of his life and with that dream, he had plans to find a wife and have many children; children who would thrive to love the Lord, as he did.
He is survived by his father: Chad (Ashley) Long; mother: Brandi (Thomas) Cook; siblings: Dallas Long, Eris Wilson, Avianna Wilson, Waylon Wilson, Rowdy Long, Hailey Cook and Braxton Cook; grandparents: Terry Douglas, Donna Long, April (Tim) Thele; step grandparents: Julie (Kevin) Presley, Mark (Kim) Unger, Sharron Cook, Chuck (Chrissy) Cook; several uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Elzie DeWayne Long and grandmother: Thresa Douglas.
