Joseph Wayne Scherer

Joseph Wayne Scherer, 56, of Marble Hill, MO, passed away February 10, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family. Joseph was born July 16, 1966 in Cape Girardeau, MO, to Joseph and Jackie (Methany) Scherer.

After spending nearly 6 years together, Joseph and Sandra Faye Sitze were united in marriage on December 5, 2020, in Wappapello, MO, at the New Life Baptist Church.

Joseph was a 1984 graduate from Advance High School in Advance, MO . After graduating high school, Joseph joined the United States Army in 1984, and remained active until 1987. He worked for Luhr Brothers in Columbia, IL for 36 years, prior to his illness. Joseph loved to spend time with his family and friends. He like to take rides in his Jeep, and while out riding you would likely find him at a yard sale somewhere. He was a big St. Louis Cardinals Fan. Joseph was known for joking and kidding around, anything to make people laugh. He would do anything for someone that he could.

Survivors include: his wife: Sandi; his mother: Jackie; five sons: Joshua (Abigail) Scherer of Pasadena, TX, Ethan Scherer or Perryville, MO, Jacob Scherer of Marble Hill, MO, Matthew (Holly) Foster of Zalma, MO, Justin E. (Vivian) Foster of Marquand, MO; one brother: John Scherer of Advance, MO; three sisters: Theresa (David) Scherer of Marble Hill, MO, Jennifer (Jerry) Rohan of Marble Hill, MO, Sherri Neal of Columbus, OH; eight grandchildren: Wade, Emmy, Ally, Mahala, Leland, Eric, Lillian and Talon.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Jason Scherer.

A Memorial Service will be held at Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 PM, with full military honors. Joseph’s remains will be laid to rest at Old Trace Creek Cemetery at a later date.

Bro.’s Matt Foster and Steve Jordan will officiate the Memorial Service.
