Joshua Wade Garland, age 37, of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away at his home on November 22, 2025. He was born on January 18, 1988, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Josh graduated from Meadow Heights High School in 2007. He was known for his big heart, steady presence, and the way he found joy in the simple things. He especially loved watching his nephew, Mikey, play basketball in Puxico, and he proudly cheered for his favorite football team, the Buffalo Bills. Josh was happiest outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, or spending time with the people he cared about. In quieter moments, he enjoyed relaxing and watching his favorite show, Yellowstone.
Josh is survived by his mother, Rebecca Garland; his brother, Shane (Yvonne) Garland; his sister, Tiffany Garland-Dry; his niece, Charlize, who served as his best man at his wedding; his nephew, Mikey; and his special friend, Christina Garland, and her son, Porter Little.
He was preceded in death by his father, Michael “Mike” Garland.
A service will be held at Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri. Visitation will be from 10:00am – 12:00pm with Funeral Service beginning at 12:00pm on Wednesday, November 26th, officiated by Ray Greenlee and Daniel Jordan. Burial to follow at James Cemetery in Scopus, Missouri.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Seth Garland, Eugene Gardner, Nathan Yount, Branden Montgomery, Steve Cook, Charlize Dry, and James Evans. Honorary pallbearers are Brent Garland and Michael Dry.
