Joyce Fay Weakley, 70, of Marble Hill, Mo., passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2021, at her home in Marble Hill. Born on April 10, 1951, in Wood River, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Verneda Crites Jordan. Joyce married her high school sweetheart, E. Glenn Weakley, in 1968. He survives.
Joyce had a great love for the Lord, her family, bright-bold colors, fancy big hats, dancing, birds and floral arrangements.
She loved serving her community and was a jailer and dispatcher with the Bollinger County Sheriff's Department for 15 years. She also worked at various factory jobs and nursing homes, as well as V.I.P. At one time she attended Southeast Missouri State University pursuing a teacher degree. She was a member of Haven of Hope Pentecostal Church.
Besides her life partner, Glenn, she is survived by two children: Tammila (Lee) Miller of Glen Allen, Mo., and Delbert (Tina) Weakley of Bell City, Mo.; by a sister, Deborah (David) Lichtenegger; by seven brothers: Loyd (Brenda) Jordan, John (Vicki) Jordan, Aaron (Katherine) Jordan, Steve (Darlene) Jordan, David (Jeannie) Jordan, Phillip (Barbara) Jordan, and Paul Homer (Kathy) Jordan. She had eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Mo., from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Rev. Ray Greenlee will officiate. Burial will follow in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
