Lana Lea (Gipson) Tooman

Lana Lea Tooman, 57, of Marquand, passed away on March 7, 2024, at her home. She was born on May 3, 1966, in Marble Hill, to the late George and Janet (Hovis) Gipson.

Lana enjoyed going fishing and mushroom hunting. She was the best cook in Wayne County. She always fed the deer hunters, her family and friends, deer meat, biscuits and gravy and fried taters. She loved to raise a garden and work in her flower beds.

Lana and Lonnie Tooman were united in marriage on March 20, 1982, in Glen Allen, at her parent’s house. Nearly 42 years of marriage brought them a house full of love and four children: Jesse, Rosalyn, Jessica and Casey. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by her husband: Lonnie Tooman; one son: Jess (Chelsea) Tooman of Grisham Spur; Rosalyn (Jeremy) Speth of Cascade, Jessica (Jesse) Dickinson of Coldwater, Casey (Wesley Bilbrey) Tooman of Poplar Bluff; one brother: Harlan (Teri) Gipson of Glen Allen; three sisters: Amy (Greg) James of Scopus, Silvia (Tim) Steinnerd of Leopold, Georgie Yount of Patton; eleven grandchildren: Isaac, Eli, Jacob, Zeek, Raylee, James, Josie, Jessalyn, Nevaeh, Cecil and Randy; two great grandchildren: Samuel and Andy and one great grandchild on the way.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Cecil and Randy Gipson.

Pallbearers will be Jesse Tooman, Jacob Hillis, Isaac Dickinson, Eli Dickinson, James Hillis, Ryan Hillis, and Jesse Dickinson.

Services for Lana will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at New Trace Creek Cemetery.
