Larry Ray Jordan, age 71, of Glenallen, Missouri, passed away on September 16, 2025, after a sudden and unexpected battle with Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer. Larry was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 22, 1954, to Oscar and Opha (Hightower) Jordan. He was raised in Mansfield & Kearney, Missouri.
After graduating from Kearney High School in 1972, Larry worked for 44 years at Henry Wurst Company in North Kansas City, Missouri, and retired on April 7, 2017. Larry married Cynthia Ellington on August 8, 1975, at Bridal Cave, in Camdenton, Missouri.
Larry enjoyed spending time with family, turkey hunting, fishing, farming & gardening, and helping others. He became a deacon at Grassy Friendship Baptist Church in Grassy, Missouri, in April 2022.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Opha, brothers Arlis Jordan, Carlos Jordan, and sister Ruby Robertson.
Survivors include his wife Cynthia, sister Rowena (Phil) Strode, brother Jerry (Wei Zhou) Jordan; sons Thomas (Jennifer) Jordan, Timothy (Carin) Jordan, Jacob Jordan; grandchildren Blake (Rielly) Vaughn, Jeffery (Brooke) Kistner, Aubrey (Nicholas) Boyd, Brittany (Aaron) Smith, Caitlyn Jordan, Carter Vaughn, Samantha Jordan, and Mackenzie Jordan; great-grandchildren Jordan Boyd, Cooper Vaughn, Kason Vaughn, Makynlee Vaughn, Colter Vaughn, Livvy Smith, Lexi Smith, Kaislynn Kistner; and multiple nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on October 11th at Grassy Friendship Baptist Church starting at 10:00am to honor Larry’s memory.
