Laura Lea (Kirkman) Sanders

Laura Lea Sanders, 58, of Chaffee, passed away on January 23, 2025, at Mercy Southeast in Cape Girardeau. She was born on January 12, 1967, to the late Clark Kirkman and Diana Baldwin, in Davenport, Iowa. She was a high school graduate of Davenport West High School.

Laura loved to dance, reading true crime books, the beach and the ocean.  She had a huge personality and a wide range of tastes in music. Laura enjoyed shopping with her friend Darrell. Family time was of great importance to Laura, and she loved being a grandma.

Survivors include daughters: Sabra (Michael) Byer, Kiya (Stuart) White, Claire Campbell; a son: Matthew DeStefano; brothers: Devin (Erika) Kirkman, Derek (Holly) Kirkman, sister: Trena Watson; grandchildren: Sam, Leo, Evan, Jackson, Lily, Forrest and Jasper; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  The Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill is assisting the family with Laura’s wishes.
