Linda Darlene Schreckenberg, age 75, of O’Fallon, MO, passed away peacefully at home on October 18, 2025. She was born on February 22, 1950, in Sikeston, MO, to the late Robert Taylor Griggs and Olga Iona (Casey) Griggs.
Linda was married to her lifetime sweetheart Vincent for 55 years. They met during a wedding they were both a part of. Little did they know they would be walking back down the aisle together exchanging their own wedding vows a short time later.
Linda was a loyal Christian, who served the Lord faithfully and diligently. She had an extraordinary gift to place pen to paper. She was an inspirational Christian writer and a published author of three books. Linda wrote hundreds of Godly articles for the Banner Press for over 25 years, witnessing to many across the state.
She is survived by her loving husband Vincent Victor Schreckenberg; her sons, Clay (Rosalie) Schreckenberg and Brock Schreckenberg; her brother Daryl (Teresa) Griggs; her sister Janet (Bill) Mills, grandchildren Austin and Savana, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Linda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was never too busy to pray with someone. Linda loved spending time with family and making memories to last a lifetime. She will be greatly missed.
Arrangements are being handled by Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Services are as follows:
-First Visitation will be from 10:00am – 11:00am at New Life St. Louis, 11570 Mark Twain Ln, Bridgeton, MO 63044. Funeral Service beginning at 11:00am.
-Second Visitation will be from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel, 203 Bass St, Marble Hill, MO 63674.
-Graveside Service will be at 11:00am on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 17357 Stars and Stripes Way, Bloomfield, MO 63825.
