Marion Lee Brockmire, age 71, of Jackson, Missouri, passed away on October 8, 2025, at the Chaffee Nursing Center. He was born on March 30, 1954, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to the late Arnold Charles and Anna Josephine (Schuch) Brockmire.
Lee proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning his career as a truck driver. He spent many years on the road, hauling freight and making friends across the miles. During his later years, he lived in Louisville, Kentucky, where he continued to work and build lasting memories with those he met along the way.
Above all, Lee cherished his family. After his passing, his loved ones discovered boxes of photos, letters, and keepsakes that he had carefully saved over the years, a testament to just how deeply he treasured the people in his life. He had a deep appreciation for life’s simple joys, collecting coins and knives, admiring anything with wolves, and sharing candy with his grandbabies every Sunday.
A favorite family memory was of a wooden train that Lee’s father had built years ago. Though the boys once blew part of it up with fireworks, that train became a cherished family treasure. There was always a friendly debate over who would get to keep it.. and of course, Lee ended up with it.
One of his favorite memories was the time he found a stray white dog that looked like a German Shepherd he named “Whitey.” The two were inseparable, and Lee’s love for that dog was something everyone knew he could smile about.
Lee was a colon cancer survivor, beating the disease four years ago with the same determination and grit that defined his life. He will be remembered as a loving father, proud grandpa, and everyone’s favorite.
Lee is survived by his son, Chris (Jessica) Brockmire; grandchildren, Gracie and Emily Brockmire; and many nieces and nephews who dearly loved their “Favorite Uncle Lee.”
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Arnold Brockmire Jr., James Brockmire, Patrick Brockmire, and Joseph Brockmire; and sisters, Mary (Kenkel) Brockmire, Judy (Robert) Brockmire, and Sandy (Holt) Brockmire.
