Mark S. Peters. 78, of Marble Hill, Mo., died at his home on December 30, 2021. Born on May 13, 1943, at his family home near Leopold, Mo., he was the son of Theodore J. and Catherine Adele Hinkebein Peters.
He worked as a farmer on the family farm all his life. He and his brothers restored tractors and showed the restored family threshing machine at agricultural-farm shows. St. John Catholic Church was his church family, and he was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus with Council 5898. He enjoyed the Bollinger County Antique Tractor Club rides and loved playing guitar with the Fans of Country Music group.
He is survived by a brother, Theodore J. Peters of Marble Hill; a sister, Bonifa Diebold of Tennessee; by sisters in law: Patricia Welter Peters, Mary Margaret Peters, and Martha Ladd Peters; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers: Francis Xavier (F.X.)., Ambrose, Matthew, and Januar Peters, by sisters, Sister Marie Ambrose (Bernice) Peters and Marjorica Anne Eftink, and his parents.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. There will be parish prayers at 7:00 p.m. led by Knights of Columbus Council 5898.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Friday, January 7, 2022, at St. John Catholic Church in Leopold at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
