Melodie Jean Robins was born on July 6, 1954, the daughter of Teddy Eugene and Emma Jean Johnson Stearns. She passed away at the age of 67 on December 20, 2021, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Melodie was an education graduate of Southeast Missouri State University. For 24 years she taught at Woodland High School. Many of those years were spent teaching in the special education department.
She married Robert Ellsworth Robins on March 24, 1979. He predeceased her on December 5, 2016.
She is survived by two sons: James “Mike” (Amanda) Robins and Lucas Robins, both of Marble Hill; by a grandson, James; two brothers: Everett (Netta) Stevens of Louisiana and Don (Bobbi) Stearns of Piedmont, Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill. Visitation will be from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Kevin Kinnard, will begin at 3:00 p.m. Burial in Morgan Memorial Park Cemetery will be at a later date.
