Miriam Diana (Slinkard) Yount

Miriam Diana Yount, 76, of Marble Hill, passed away on December 14, 2023, surrounded by her family, at her home. Diana was born on February 27, 1947, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Wilber and Miriam (Retherford) Slinkard. 

Diana worked for Rapco in Fruitland and for the Paramount Hat Factory in Marble Hill, manufacturing hats and sewing. When she wasn’t working, you would likely find her gone camping on the weekends or going to lawnmower races. She liked to play cards and board games with her family. Elvis was her favorite singer. Diana loved Christmas so much she was known to leave her tree up all year long. 

Diana and Larry Wayne Yount, were married on March 28, 1976, in Bollinger County. They attended Lutesville Baptist Church for many years together. Even after 47 years of marriage, they were still as crazy about one another as the day they married. He survives. 

Survivors include: her husband: Larry Wayne Yount; three sons: Porky Carlton Yount of Grassy, MO, Jimmy (Patricia) Yount of Marquand, MO, Jessie Yount of Marble Hill, MO; two daughters: Debra Yount and Beverly Chanocua of Marble Hill, MO; one brother: Jack Craft of McAllen, Texas; one sister: Lydia Feagan of St. Louis, MO; ten grandchildren: Kevin Yount, Johnathon Yount, Autumn Cook, Alita McBride, Trinity Cook, Catalina Chanocua, Serria Yount, Lindsey Craft, Luke Cook, Christopher O’Neill; eight great grandchildren: Oaklynn Yount, Tatum Mell, Hanner Dodd, Kane Cook, Rilee Miller, Riley Kluesner, Aiden and Shealyn O’Neill. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son: John Wesley; and one brother: John Slinkard.

Pallbearers will be: Kevin Yount, Luke Cook, Craig Kirkpatrick, Lonnie Yount, Johnathon Yount, Punk Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Johnny and Donnie Greer. 

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm, with Bro. Junior Davis officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Carmel Cemetery near Marquand, MO.
