Nellie Scott Obituary

Nellie Sue Mosier was born in Tennessee on October 12th, 1937. Her parents were Mitchell Mosier and Josie Mae Russell. Her family relocated to the Bootheel of Missouri where she graduated from Cooter High School.

She met the love of her life on a blind date and became his bride on October 10th, 1956, in Hermosa Mississippi. They settled in St. Louis, Mo. for the next few years when they found and purchased a farm on Castor River and lived and raised their 3 children until aging caught up to them and they sold the old homeplace and move to Glen Allen in 1996. Nellie and Bobby joined the United Pentecostal Church in Lutesville and ended up at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Glen Allen where they both worshipped and lived for the Lord for the rest of their lives. Nellie was a dedicated homemaker who loved to cook and anything sweet seemed to be her favorite besides her famous yeast rolls that her family enjoyed for any holiday feast. Thanksgiving was always her favorite as all her favorite foods and desserts would be prepared. She had finally realized that no one needed 12 desserts but still insisted on at least 7.

Mom loved a good cup of coffee, a good book and a good piece of crappie and visiting with her wonderful friends from the Nutrition Center where you could often find her playing Bingo. She worked jigsaw puzzles by the hundreds until her back just wouldn't allow it. She had a wonderful green thumb and could grow anything.

Since the tornado of April 23, she had survived 13 bouts of pneumonia and her house being rebuilt. Mom loved to sit on her porch, watch the birds and wild animals play and pray and worship the Lord for all he had given her.

Nellie's Parents, Brothers, Lonzo Mosier, Kenneth Mosier, and one Sister, Norma Ellen Mosier Basham along with beloved in-law Truman Basham, and her loving Scott Family, Rook and Jo, Jessie and Abe, Wendy and May, Homer and Eleanor, Jake and Ersel, Ruby and RJ, Lessie and Paul, along with 6 nieces and nephews. preceded her in leaving this world.

Her loving spouse passed in 2011. she is survived by her 3 children,

Rosalie Delmeda Nanney (Rick), Bobby "Scotty" Clifford Scott II (Nancy), Pamela Sue Brown (Bob); 5 Grandsons: Bobby (Harley) Joe Brown, Drake (Charity) Elihue Scott, Nathan (Adriana) Lee Brown, Eric Scott Nanney, Eran Thomas Nanney, and 1 Granddaughter: Blessing Golaatia Scott, along with Stepgrandchildren: Cody and Leanne Phillips. Granny had 13 Great Grands that she took great pleasure in. Nellie also has surviving, 2 Sisters, Della Virginia Rounseville and Gloria Elllen Chrisman, 2 Sisters in-law, Barbara Mosier and Retta Mosier, along with several nieces and nephews.

Granny was much loved by all who met her with her quirky mismatched socks and her matching hats.

She loved and was loved by extended church family and loved listening to her Pastor Ivan Dowd be blessed by the Spirit. Mom left us December 9th, 2024, to be with Jesus. We know that Mom is singing with the Angels and Praising Jesus, and we are content.

In lieu of flowers, she requested donations to the building fund of her church, Heritage Apostolic Church, which is rebuilding from the tornado of 23.

Thanks to the wonderful staff at Mercy for all your kindness and care for our sweet Momma, special thanks to Dr. Buchanan for giving Mom the care you would your own mom.

Paston Ivan Dowd will be officiating the services. He will be assisted by Steve Glazier.

Pallbearers will be Drake Scott, Nathan Brown, Cody Phillips, Dillion Yount, DJ Douglas, Dalton Douglas.
