Norma Jean (Shell) Davault

Norma Jean Davault,(73) formally of Marble Hill, MO, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

She was born February 2, 1950, in Sank, MO, to Truman Dale and Betty (Shipley) Shell Jordan. 

Norma married Larry Davault on February 26, 1965. They had four children: Larry (Eugene), Robert, Melissa, and Donnie.

Norma worked as a waitress for many years until the death of her son Donnie in 1981. It was because of his illness that she studied and graduated from Valley Baptist Medical Center School of Vocational Nursing as an LPN.  She worked at Woodland Hills (now Stonebridge) in Marble Hill, MO, until she retired in 2016.

Norma is survived by two sons, Larry Eugene (Lisa) Davault, Jackson, MO; Robert Davault Marble Hill, MO, and one daughter Melissa (Brian) Collier, also of Marble Hill, MO; one sister Kim (Ron) Scott, Wadsworth, OH; 12 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 5 step great-grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Larry Davault; her parents, Dale and Betty; her sister Brenda Grant; and a son Donnie Ray Davault.

Pallbearers will be Dillion Davault, Brian Collier, Sr., John Mark Collier, Robbie Davault, Austin Davault, and Caleb Wendel. Mason Davault will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until time of service at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO, with Bro. Aaron Allen and Bro. Randall Perkey officiating.  Burial will follow at Baker’s Cemetery in Bollinger County.
