Richard Gregory, age 48, of Chaffee, died Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, MO. He was born on August 20 1975, at Greenville, MS, to Richard and Janet Busby.
Richard and his sibling were adopted and raised by Mildred (Finney) Gregory, who survives, and the late Jim Gregory. Richard had lived in Greenville in his younger years before moving to Hayti, MO, he later moved to Benton, and worked on the the riverboat for many years. He was a professional truck driver and a jack of all trades, capable of building or fixing anything. After high school, he became a volunteer fire fighter. Richard was the pillar of his family and the one everyone went to when they were in trouble. He cared for and protected his siblings when they were kids and later after they became adults. Everyone depended on and relied on his love and strength.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his ex-wife: Heather Gregory; one son: Richard Gregory Jr.; one grandson: Liam Gregory; his fiance': Dawn Colgate; his brothers and sisters: Charles Gregory, Elizabeth Looney, Margaret Wren, Susan Kerr, Brandon Gregory, James Gregory Jr., Christopher Gregory, Scott Gregory and Sonja Stotler. Also surviving is their adopted daughter: Aubrie Shaak Gregory; and many neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother: Tim Gregory and his adopted father: Jim Gregory.
The Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in assisting the family during this time. A private family memorial service will be held.
