Richard Allen Wall

Richard Allen Wall, 82, of Glen Allen, MO, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. Richard was born in Charleston, MO, on October 21, 1940, to the late Rudy and Alma Elsie (Durham) Wall.

After graduating from Lutesville High School, Richard joined the United States Air Force on July 29, 1960. He remained active until he received his honorable discharge on April 1, 1964. He then remained in the reserves until July 28, 1966.

Richard and Glenda Jean Deck were united in marriage on September 28, 1960, at the Glen Allen Baptist Church. Of this marriage, Richard and Glenda had two children: Allen and Belinda. Richard was a devoted husband to his wife, an amazing father to his children, and the world’s best grandpa to his grandchildren. Richard was a family man, and passed his Christian values on to his children and grandchildren.

As a third-generation railroad worker, he spent 24 years working as a trackman for the Union Pacific Railroad. After the work was done, he liked to spend free time going deer and turkey hunting. He was known to spend a little time fishing as well. He was a great cook, known for his biscuits and gravy and his pies. Richard was even known to dabble in making some sweet homemade wine.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Glenda; one son: Allen (Stephanie) Wall of Glen Allen, MO; one daughter: Belinda (Joe) Brown of Marble Hill, MO; one brother: Thomas (Bessie) Wall of Fruitland, MO; four grandchildren: Katelyn Wall, Dougie Buchmiller, Justin Brown and Jennette Anderson; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Wall, Joe Brown, Justin Brown, Dougie Buchmiller, Bobby Miller, Katelyn Wall and Jennette Anderson.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the Hutchings-Pendergrass Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Funeral Service will begin at 12:00 PM. Burial will conclude at the Glen Allen Cemetery with full military honors.
