Robert Albert Johnson, 68, of Marble Hill, Missouri, passed away at his home on May 1, 2026.
Robert was born on November 30, 1957, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, to Margene (Thoma) Johnson and Bobby Johnson. He was a lifelong farmer, deeply rooted in the land and the rhythms of country life. He was a John Deere man who bled green and yellow. Farming wasn’t just his work, it was his passion, his calling, and the way he connected with the world around him.
He was survived by the mother of his children, Ladonna Menz, two children Clayton (Christina) Johnson and Kayli (Cody) Naramore, six grandchildren Diamond (Devin) Amelunke, Madalynn and Lillyan Johnson, and Lance, Kate, and Luke Naramore, his mother Margene Johnson, one brother David (Angie) Johnson, and two sisters Laurie and Brenda Johnson.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Johnson
He found happiness in the simple things in life - working outdoors, caring for his chickens, dogs, and livestock, and embracing nature. He never met a stranger and had a special way of striking up conversations and making new friends wherever he went.
Above all, Robert’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chaffee, Missouri, where he lived out his beliefs.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and unwavering dedication. He worked hard while rarely slowing, even when he should have. His example will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.
Funeral services will be held at Pendergrass Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Missouri on Friday, May 8th. Visitation will be from 10 am - 12 pm with services immediately following. There will be no interment service. Phil Thompson will officiate.
Robert will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
