Ronald Herbert Ritter

Ronald Herbert Ritter, 74, of Marble Hill, MO, passed into the arms of his Savior, Jesus, at his home on Saturday, October 15, 2022 after a short battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He was born in Seattle, WA on May 24, 1948 to the late Herbert and Rebecca (Liston) Ritter.

Ron is survived by his wife, Beverly, of Marble Hill, MO; two sons: Brooke Ritter of Sioux City, IA and Nate (Tilly) Ritter of San Diego, CA; one brother: Greg Ritter of Seattle, WA; three very adored grandchildren: Kai, Asher and Everly; and numerous cousins in Washington and Minnesota, as well as many faithful friends.

On February 13, 1999, Ron and Beverly Shanks were married in Centralia, WA, where they lived until moving to Marble Hill, MO in 2018. Ron dearly loved Missouri and the people who lived here.

Prior to earing his college degrees, Ron served two years in the US Army in Germany on Ski Patrol. Ron’s career after graduating from the University of Orgon and Seattle Pacific University Master’s Program, was in law enforcement, where he worked for 25 years as a Washington State Highway Patrol Narcotics Detective and SWAT team member. He always said he couldn’t believe he got paid to have so much fun!

Some of Ron’s favorite past times were camping and riding his beloved mare, a Tennessee Walking Horse named “Nike.” He also liked joining his friends for coffee and meal. Ron and Bev also enjoyed their assortment of critters that run the household but especially their overly plump, rather smelly, floor decoration named Puppus. The Ritter’s attended Cape County Cowboy Church at Gravel Hill, where many of their wonderful friends attended.

Ron leaves a legacy of friendship to many people, where his smile and the twinkle in his eyes will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, MO. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM with no graveside burial.
